This spring LoyolaÌýOpera TheatreÌýwill present a double bill ofÌýcontrastingÌýtales -Ìýa drama of sorrow and redemption, and a comedy aboutÌýfamilyÌýgreed turned to advantage –withÌýperformancesÌýofÌý“SuorÌýAngelica/GianniÌýSchicchi." The hour-long operas are the final twoÌýof the three one-act works known collectively as Il Trittico, by Giacomo Puccini. Both will be performedÌýin Italian with English-language supertitlesÌýon Friday, April 22, at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, April 24, at 3 p.m. in the Louis J.ÌýRousselÌýPerformance Hall, located in the Communications/Music Complex on Loyola’s main campus.

This original ensemble-driven theatre project will be created in collaboration with the ensemble. This group of artists will collectively create a performance that explores the themes of identityÌýand how one's individuality incorporates into -Ìýand helps define - community. Directed by Dr. Helen Jaksch.
